FORD MUSTANG GT

 About ford mustang gt

*Ford Mustang is a line of American vehicles produced by Ford. The Mustang has been in continuous production since 1964, making it the longest-running Ford automobile brand. It is the fifth-best-selling Ford automobile brand and is now in its sixth generation. The Mustang was conceived as a highly stylized series of fast coupes and convertibles drawn from previous model lines, initially characterised by "long hood, short deck" proportions. It is the namesake of the "pony car" vehicle sector.

*The 1965 Mustang, which was expected to sell 100,000 automobiles per year, became the most successful vehicle introduction since the 1927 Model A. [4] The Mustang was introduced on April 17, 1964[5], 16 days after the Plymouth Barracuda, and sold over 400,000 vehicles in its first year; the millionth Mustang was sold within two years of its introduction. [6] In August 2018, Ford created the 10-millionth Mustang, which was a 2019 Wimbledon White convertible with a V8 engine, matching the original 1965 Mustang. this the starting point of ford mustang gt and how it's going on .

The 1st generation of gt

*Donald N. Frey, Lee Iacocca's assistant general manager and chief engineer, was the T-5 project's lead engineer, managing the full creation of the automobile in a record 18 months, while Iacocca personally championed the project as Ford Division general manager.  The T-5 prototype was a two-seater roadster with a mid-mounted engine. The German Ford Taunus V4 engine was used in this car.

*The Mustang was built mainly on recognized  yet basic components, many of which were already in production for previous Ford models, to attain its claimed list price of US$2,368 (approximately to $20,362 in 2021). Many (if not the majority) of the interior, chassis, suspension, and drivetrain components were borrowed from Ford's Falcon and Fairlane. The use of common components also reduced the learning curve for assembly and repair employees, allowing dealers to take up the Mustang without having to invest in additional spare parts inventory to service the new car line. Initially, sales were expected to be less than 100,000 copies in the first year. This target was met three months after the launch. An additional 318,000 units would be sold.

*Mustang went "from speed and power" to the rising market desire for larger and heavier "luxury" type designs under the supervision of S. "Bunkie" Knudsen. The outcome was the style blunders of 1971-1973. "By 1971, Ford had almost completely exited the go-fast industry with the Mustang." This was the first and final significant redesign of the first-generation Mustang. "The automobiles gained around 800 pounds (360 kg) in every dimension except height." The restyling also attempted to give the impression that the automobiles were much bigger. The 1971 Mustang was approximately 3 inches (75 mm) wider than the 1970 Mustang, and its front and rear tracks were similarly expanded by 3 inches (75 mm).

2nd generation of gt

*The second generation, known as the "Mustang II," was released on September 21, 1973, two months before the first 1973 oil crisis, and its smaller size allowed it to compete with popular imported sports coupes such as the Japanese Datsun 240Z, Toyota Celica, and European Ford Capri (then Ford-built in Germany and Britain, sold in U.S. by Mercury as a captive import car). The first-year sales was 385,993 vehicles, compared to 418,812 for the original Mustang. Finally, the Mustang II was an early illustration of the "malaise age" downsizing that would occur among Detroit's Big Three.

*The classic 2.3 L I4 from the Pinto and the 2.8 L Cologne V6 from the Mercury Capri powered the 1974 versions. The 302 cu in (4.9 L) Windsor V8 was returned for the 1975 model year, but only with the C-4 automatic transmission, power brakes, and power steering. This lasted until the end of manufacture in 1978. The RAD four-speed with unique gearing for all three engines and the C-3 automatic behind the 2.3 L and 2.8 L were the other gearboxes available. The marketing label "5.0 L" was not used until the 1978 King Cobra model. Except for the King Cobras, all 302 cu in (4.9 L) Mustang IIs received revised versions of the historic Ford "V8" insignia on each front fender.

*The automobile was offered in coupe and hatchback body styles, as well as a "luxury" Ghia variant developed by Ford's newly purchased Ghia of Italy. The coupe was advertised as a "hardtop," although it really featured a narrow "B" pillar and non-rolling rear quarter windows. However, all Mustangs of this generation had frameless door glass. The "Ghia" had a heavily cushioned vinyl top and smaller rear quarter windows for a more formal appearance. Hardtop, hatchback, Mach 1, and Ghia versions were available in 1974. For 1975, changes included the availability of a "MPG" variant with a revised rear axle ratio for increased fuel economy. The "Stallion" trim package was added in 1976.

*The Mach 1 was in production from 1974 until 1978. Other modifications in look and performance included a "Cobra II" version in 1976-1978 and a "King Cobra" variant in 1978, with about 4,972 manufactured. The T-top roof option was now available on all 1977-1978 hatchback cars in all trim levels, and it featured a leatherette storage bag that attached to the top of the spare trie hump.

3rd generation of gt

*Three design teams, two from Michigan and one from Italy, worked diligently on the Fox Body's designs and clay models. Some of the designs were inspired by the Mustang II, while others were inspired by popular waggons of the time. However, it was Jack Telnack's influence that inspired the team to take chances with the new design.

*Jack Telnack was Ford of Europe's vice president of design. In addition, one-third of the crew spent time at the Ghia studio in Italy. So it's hardly surprising that the Fox Body Mustang is influenced by Europe.

*The Fox Body is distinct from the Mustang II, which appears to be a shorter form of the first-generation vehicles. It was also around 100 pounds lighter than the previous model.

4th generation of gt

*The fourth-generation Ford Mustang is a car that was manufactured by the American company Ford from 1994 to 2004. The Ford Mustang had its first major facelift in fifteen years for 1994, debuting in November 1993 and going on sale on December 9, 1993.

*The concept, codenamed "SN-95" by Ford, was based on an upgraded version of the Fox platform, which served as the foundation for the final Ford vehicle. It was styled by Bud Magaldi and incorporates certain styling cues from old Mustangs. The convertible was brought back, however the former notchback and hatchback bodystyles were dropped in favour of a traditional coupe design.

*The SN95 Mustang is Ford's fourth generation ponycar, built between 1994 and 2004, commonly known as the Fox-4 Mustang. The second half of SN95 Mustang manufacturing, known as the New Edge Mustang (1999-2004), saw a significant restyle. HOT ROD's Johnny Hunkins has already done so, and our focus will be on the first half of SN95 Mustang production, from 1994 to 1998.

*Beginning in 2008, prior 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustangs may be brought to Carroll Shelby's Special Performance Plant in Las Vegas for a $27,995 rebuild into a Super Snake. The Super Snake[48] will use a 5.4 L engine with 605 horsepower (451 kW). A Kenne Bell twin-screw supercharged version with "over 725 horsepower" and a 0-60 mph acceleration time ranging from 3.5 to 3.7 seconds was also sold without warranty.  The Super Snake is based on Carroll Shelby's 1967 GT500 Super Snake, which was built for Goodyear Tires.

6th generation of gt

*The sixth-generation Ford Mustang (S550) is the latest model of Ford's Mustang pony car. The sixth-generation Mustang, unlike previous Mustang models, has completely independent rear suspension on all variants, as well as an available 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged and direct injected four-cylinder engine. The new Mustang was presented as a 2015 model year car, commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the Ford Mustang, which was revealed on April 17, 1964 as a 1965 model year vehicle.

*The sixth generation Ford Mustang was also the first to be marketed and sold internationally, and it was the first time that factory right-hand-drive Mustangs were made alongside left-hand-drive vehicles. This is part of the "One Ford" business strategy, which includes the Fiesta, Focus, Fusion/Mondeo, Escape/Kuga, Edge, Ford Transit Connect, and Ford Transit, among other models.
